Family policies

What families ask us before the first day.

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

When to keep your child home

Please keep your child home if they have a fever, are vomiting or have a rash we can't explain, and send them back after a full day without symptoms. If your child falls ill here, we call you first so a grown-up can come.

Drop-off and pickup

A teacher hands each child to you at the room door. We release a child only to the adults on your list, and we ask to see identification from anyone we don't know yet.

Late pickup

If you'll be late, call the office as soon as you know. If it happens more than once, Cicely talks with you in person. The policy is in writing when you enroll.

Meals, snacks and allergies

Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack come from our kitchen, and the week's menu is posted at the front desk. Tell us about any allergy at the tour, and once you enroll we ask again in private. Families of infants bring milk or formula.

Naps and safe sleep

Infants sleep on their backs, in their own cribs, with nothing else in the crib. Older children rest on cots, at the time each one needs.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close on the holidays we give you in writing when you enroll. If weather or anything else closes us, we text every family before opening.

Leaving the program

We ask for two weeks' notice before your child leaves, in writing or in person.
